Once again the Produce Show was a great success with prize winners well spread across the parish. The baking classes were deliciously contested, jars containing jams, jellies, pickles and chutneys were hotly sought after, root vegetables came in every hue of the rainbow -honestly, there were ROYGBIV carrots, tatties ranged from small and black, to large and red, to a raft of seals lolling on Lochend beach and NEWS FLASH one entry from Dochgarroch Primary School helping them to win their 4th ECO school green flag - absolutely top of the class!

Herby baskets, pretty salads and decorated biscuits seemed to bring out intra-family competition - hopefully the winner/loser allocations didn't cause issues later in the day.

The mellowing effect of the assorted beverages from Birch's Brewery helped to quell the rumbles in the rhubarb jungle about poly-tunnel professionals....should they be in a separate class?.....discuss.....
...and then get down to ordering seeds for next year. There are lots of opportunities for all abilities.

The full list of winners will be issued in the next newsletter.
